Neiman Group Agency Head Speaks at State Home Care Association Annual Meetings to Discuss National Campaign

CEO Tim Reeves Touts Importance of New Home Care Industry PR Campaign, "Help Us Choose Home"

HARRISBURG, Pa. (June 12, 2009) — Neiman Group CEO Tim Reeves was a featured speaker at two state home care association annual meetings in May to brief attendees on the firm's national home care industry PR campaign, "Help Us Choose Home." A new website dedicated to this effort (HelpUsChooseHome.com) was designed by Neiman Group's digital practice and launched earlier this year. The campaign was created by Neiman Group on behalf of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) and the state associations it represents.

On May 18, Reeves spoke at the Home Care Association of New York State's (HCA) annual meeting in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and on May 29, he spoke at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) in State College, Pa.

"This campaign is all about the power of storytelling," Reeves said. "Our core notion, and really the theme that runs through everything we're implementing on behalf of the home care community, is to simply remind Americans that we all desire to be home when we are recovering from an illness or injury. It's a story that taps into the core of humanity. Not a concocted one, but rather a real one that's already there."

Reeves shared a powerful video with meeting attendees — a key component of the Help Us Choose Home campaign — featuring the Daughtry smash hit, "Home," set to images of home care professionals and their patients at home, mixed with statistics that underscore the value and benefits of home care. "The Neiman Group's 'Help Us Choose Home' campaign is one of the most exciting and innovative public outreach initiatives ever launched by the home care community, and we at the Home Care Association of New York State are proud to include it in our ongoing advocacy efforts at both the state and national levels," said HCA President Joanne Cunningham. "The strength of Help Us Choose Home is rooted in a very simple and unifying message which speaks for all of us who have experienced the power of home care, from patients seeking a choice in the care they receive to providers who help support this important choice."

The campaign — led by NAHC — takes on particular significance this year as deep cuts to home care and hospice Medicare payments have been outlined in President Obama's 2010 budget proposal. "Val Halamandaris, the visionary leader of NAHC, said it best when he told The New York Times that, while he supports President Obama's goal of universal health care, it must not be accomplished on the backs of homebound older Americans," said Reeves.
